We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity to work in the fast-paced Accounting + Finance industry, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Receivable, Medicare, and Medicaid, with a track record of managing financial records and processing medical billing information with accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
As a Medical Biller, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Managing and executing medical billing tasks, including the preparation, review, and submission of bills to patients and insurance companies.
2. Ensuring compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations, as well as other state and federal laws related to medical billing.
3. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic and insurance information.
4. Reviewing accounts for possible assignment and makes recommendations to the Billing Supervisor, also prepares information for the collection agency.
5. Working closely with other team members to identify and resolve billing discrepancies and errors.
6. Providing expert advice and guidance on medical billing processes and procedures.
7. Communicating effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to address queries and concerns related to medical billing.
8. Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our medical billing processes.
9. Keeping abreast of changes in Medicare and Medicaid regulations and other relevant laws and regulations.
10. Participating in audits and investigations, as necessary.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable, Medicare, and Medicaid.
2. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
3. Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance policies, and related legal and regulatory requirements.
5. Proficiency in medical billing software and other relevant computer applications.
6. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review and analyze complex financial data.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
8. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
9. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
11. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
