MEDICAL BILLER - Spherion

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Biller to join a local healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing and submitting medical claims to insurance companies and government programs. You will ensure that billing procedures comply with industry standards and regulations, working closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Responsibilities:
Review and verify patient information and insurance details for accuracy.
Prepare and submit insurance claims and patient bills in a timely manner.
Follow up on unpaid claims and appeals, addressing any issues or denials.
Reconcile and post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing codes, regulations, and payer requirements.
Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
Assist with patient inquiries and provide explanations of charges and insurance coverage.
Generate and review financial reports and statements to track billing performance and revenue.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Certification in medical billing and coding (CPC, CCS, or similar) preferred.
Knowledge of ophthalmology-specific billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and payer policies.

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a medical biller
Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
