We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and motivated Medical Biller/Collector to join our team. This is a permanent position in the healthcare industry, specifically within the Home Health sector. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with over 5 years of experience in medical billing and collection. This role will be essential in ensuring the financial health of our organization, and will be responsible for submitting and following up on claims with health insurance companies in order to receive payment for services rendered by healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

Manage the submission of claims and ensure timely reimbursement for services provided.
Conduct thorough, detailed follow-up with insurance companies regarding unpaid claims.
Accurately post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
Identify and resolve billing errors and inconsistencies.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and practice information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtain any missing information.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and other staff to ensure that correct billing codes are assigned to each service.
Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues and work with them to resolve any discrepancies or misunderstandings.
Prepare, review, and send patient statements.
Evaluate patient's financial status and establish budget payment plans, if necessary.
Report to management on outstanding issues and trends.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of medical billing/collections experience, preferably in the Home Health sector.
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies and regulations, billing procedures, and collection laws.
Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
Strong understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and ability to reconcile payments.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in using medical software and billing systems.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve billing errors and discrepancies.
High level of professionalism and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification is preferred.
