• JOB SUMMARY

  • The Medical Assistant may perform duties by giving care to patients of all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics under the direct supervision of a physician. A variety of tasks, which require a considerable amount of organization, are included in patient care. This may include performing phlebotomy, patient work up, chart review and entering vital data either in a paper format or electronic format.

• JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or experience: Medical Assistant training preferred. Prefer two or three years in a medical physicians office.
  • Knowledge: General phlebotomy and basic clinical knowledge required. Basic pharmacology preferred.
  • Skills: Phlebotomy skills are required or will be trained. Good communication skills. Good organizational and time management skills. Good interpersonal skills required as job requires frequent interaction with physicians and patients.
  • Abilities: Must be able to multi-task in a busy office setting. Must have the ability to cross train in a variety of clinical tasks such as recording vitals, EMR recording, phlebotomy, etc.
