Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr – $25/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our client’s Healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the medical office. The ideal candidate for the Medical Assistant role will have excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:
- Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to medical staff, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling correspondence.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients upon arrival, answer phone calls, and address patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, and medical procedures.
- Billing and Coding: Assist with medical billing and coding, process insurance claims, and handle patient billing inquiries.
- Office Coordination: Manage office supplies, equipment, and inventory. Ensure the medical office is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and other departments, facilitating clear and efficient communication.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Compliance: Adhere to all relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and policies, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and privacy.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
- Must have Covid vaccine, booster, and current flu shot.
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in medical terminology, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient records and administrative tasks.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification in Medical Administration or a related field is preferred.
