+ Open to employees within the Urology department only DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Urology Clinic at UW Medical Center - Montlake diagnoses and treats a variety of urologic problems. The facility includes two multidisciplinary clinics—the Prostate Oncology Center and the Urogynecology Clinic—a general urology clinic and a variety of specialized urology clinics. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Supervise Certified Medical Assistants (MA-C) and Registered Medical Assistants (MA-R, Clinic Assistants)
+ Responsible for the hiring, supervision, work scheduling, and performance management of MA-C and MA-R staff
+ Interviews and recommends the selection of MA-C / MA-R candidate
+ Works with management and other staff on process improvements, developing training courses and planning educational/quality improvement activities for staff
+ Possesses in-depth knowledge of operational systems including electronic health record systems (Epic) and all scheduling software
+ Conducts annual performance evaluations and recommends performance improvement action
+ Reviews and corrects the work performed by others for compliance with established procedures
+ Assigns employee schedules, establish plan for emergency staff coverage and act upon leave request REQUIREMENTS
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Three years of Patient Support Service experience or equivalent education/experience
+ Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
+ Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board preferred ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKE UW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
