**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team at COR Medical Centers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and administrative skills, a strong commitment to patient care, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role will involve supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring smooth office operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Patient Interaction:** Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner; explain procedures and treatments to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
- **Clinical Duties:**
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect lab specimens following proper protocols.

- **Administrative Tasks:**
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and reminders to optimize clinic flow.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle insurance verification and referrals; assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
- **Equipment and Inventory Management:**
- Ensure medical equipment and instruments are clean, maintained, and ready for use.
- Monitor and reorder supplies as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- **Patient Education:** Support physicians in educating patients about their health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care measures.
- **Collaboration:** Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Current certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Bilingual
