About the Job
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Assistant/Front Desk/Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare professionals in providing exceptional patient care by performing various clinical and administrative tasks. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the providers and patients to ensure their comfort and well-being while maintaining a professional and efficient healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other pertinent information accurately and confidentially.
- Assist healthcare providers during medical examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization for efficient patient care.
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, coordinating with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Schedule surgeries.
- Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and requests professionally and courteously.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including verifying insurance coverage and collecting payments.
- Stock and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to stay updated on healthcare best practices and regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program or relevant certification preferred.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably as a medical assistant.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
