At Catapult, we are helping our member, Raleigh Rheumatology Associates hire a Medical Assistant. This is an onsite role and the successful candidates must be able to commute to the Raleigh, NC office daily for a 4.5-day work week with Fridays being a half day.
Pay is UP TO $24 per hour depending on experience!

About the Job and the Responsibilities:
· Perform basic patient care procedures, such as rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with examinations.
· Explains treatment procedures to patients and prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
· Educate patients on medication administration, self-care techniques, and preventive measures.
· Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as directed by healthcare providers.
· Document patient information, medical history, medical reconciliation, and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records.
· Other clinical support responsibilities include disposing of contaminated supplies, calling prescriptions to a pharmacy, preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician, and authorizing drug refills as directed.
· Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals.
· Assistance with prior authorizations and appeals to insurance companies for critical therapies required for patients.
· Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
· Performs other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician
· Performs other administrative duties as directed
Education and Experience:
High school or GED graduation required
Prefer at least one previous year working as a Medical Assistant
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification a plus but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong communication, bedside manner, and interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient service.
· Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced private practice.
· Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in healthcare practices.
· Working knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures applicable to work performed.
· Working knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and special treatments to patients.
· Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting
· Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
· Invested in the growth of the practice from the start and desire to show initiative in improving clinic workflow and patient care practices.
