We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves a combination of clinical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the medical facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Support:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with procedures.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as drawing blood, administering injections, and conducting basic diagnostic tests under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers.
- Sterilize medical instruments and maintain clean, organized exam rooms.
- Patient Care:
- Greet and prepare patients for their appointments, ensuring a positive and comforting experience.
- Provide patients with information on medical procedures, treatments, and follow-up care as instructed by the healthcare provider.
- Act as a liaison between patients and providers, addressing concerns and ensuring clear communication.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and update electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy.
- Handle patient inquiries, insurance verifications, and billing coordination.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient visits and procedures for compliance and billing purposes.
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor and restock medical supplies and inventory as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and administrative staff for timely procurement of supplies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Assisting preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) designation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a medical assistant or in a related healthcare role.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic healthcare practices.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
