Position Summary
The Per Diem Medical Assistant is vital in supporting the clinical team at Bebashi’s Wellness Center. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality care to clients by assisting with medical procedures, performing administrative duties, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Support
- Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures, including but not limited to phlebotomy, vital signs collection, and specimen handling.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as preparing and processing specimens for testing.
- Ensure exam rooms are cleaned, stocked, and prepared for patient care.
- Client Interaction
- Greet clients and ensure they feel comfortable and informed during their visit.
- Record patient medical histories and update electronic health records accurately.
- Provide client education on prescribed treatments, medications, and preventative care.
- Administrative Duties
- Schedule and confirm appointments for clients as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with inventory management of clinical supplies and medications.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and community outreach teams to deliver comprehensive care.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive environment aligned with Bebashi’s mission and core values.
Work Environment and Schedule
- This is a per diem position with flexible hours, depending on the organization’s needs.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
- The position operates in a clinical setting with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases.

Required Experience:
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a community health or nonprofit setting.
- Experience with phlebotomy is required.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
