Start Line Pediatrics is a small pediatric office that specializes in a "town doctor" approach. We are located in Hopkinton, MA and are looking for a qualified Medical Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position, 3 days/week, with competitive pay. Potential for per diem hours, in addition. COVID-19 vaccination required. An ideal candidate loves kids and families and is a friendly, intelligent, hardworking, detail oriented, team player with previous pediatric office experience. Some evenings, weekends and minor holiday work required.
Position responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Creating a welcoming, calm environment for patients and their families, preparing patients for exams, procedures, treatments, recording medical history and vital signs in EMR and administering immunizations.
- Assisting the providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens (including blood draws) and performing basic laboratory tests on premises.
- Maintaining medical supplies, inventory, and disposal.
- Maintaining equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with OSHA guidelines, CLIA regulations, HIPAA medical privacy guidelines.
- General office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, faxing, copying.
- Excellent customer service skills, verbal and written skills needed for interacting with patients, families, caregivers and coworkers is a must.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Medical Assistant Qualifications: Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a valid Massachusetts Medical Assistant Certificate.
- Experienced MA's preferred. Experience with Pediatrics and Clinics preferred.
- Experience with EPIC EMR a plus.
