Responsibilities Key Responsibilities : + Data entry. + Filing and organizing Medical Records. + Answer phones. + Organizing paperwork. + Uploading files in a timely manner. + Other business office and clinical functions as needed. + Act as a liaison between patients, clinical or medical teammates. + Maintains positive communications with the medical staff members and their office personnel. + Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within established deadlines. + Call pre-operative patients to collect health/medical history and verify they are a candidate. for outpatient surgery. + Clear any medical concerns with the medical director. + Maintain competencies to function in MA role within specific area. + Ability to work flexible hours as needed and/or requested by Manager. + Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA. + Comply with the SCA and facility policy and procedures. + Notify the RN of any changes in patient's status and responses. + Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the team and other stakeholders. + Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information. + Comply with all SCA and facility policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation standards and professional guidelines when providing patient care. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification. + High School Graduate or equivalent. + One year of Medical Assistant / Nursing Assistant/ Patient Care Tech experience preferred. + Certified Medical Assistant (MA)/Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Patient Care (PCT) preferred. + Knowledge of medical terminology.
