Duties and Responsibilities

Room patient and obtain vital signs
Obtain surveillance questionnaires and consent forms.
Assist the provider with patient examinations.
Accurately interpret instructions and communicate clinical information to patients related to provider's orders.
Use of an electronic medical record system for appointment scheduling, check in, and scheduling follow up appointments.
Draw blood; perform patient injections (vaccinations) as directed by provider; administer clinical screening tests, e.g. hearing tests, visual test screening, pulmonary function tests, urine collection
Schedule and follow up on patient appointments; accurately provide information within defined limits and answer basic questions.
Prepare blood for laboratory tests; ensure samples are ready for delivery with all appropriate documentation.
Update and chart electronic patients and office databases.
Respond to first level inquiries from patients, HR, university departments, and outside of the university.
Follow up with vendors, pharmacist, labs, and referral doctors. Purchase office and clinic supplies as directed. Check and perform quality control prior to any use of equipment.
Provide back up to front desk reception staff in answering telephones, retrieving voicemail messages, and checking the clinic's email box for follow up.

Education Qualifications

Experience

Bilingual English Spanish at a conversational level (**required), plus basic medical information, including patient's chief complaints, history of present illness, past medical history including allergies, medications, chronic medical conditions, and post-visit instructions.
