MUST:
Certified Medical Assistant
1 plus year of experience as a Medical assistant
Must have manual blood pressure experience
Must be technology savvy
Must have experience working on EMR
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have experience with medication authorization
Experience obtaining prior authorizations highly preferred
Experience with medical scribing highly preferred
Experience assisting in the front office preferred
DUTIES:
Medical Assistant will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Accurately take and document vitals
Scribe work consisting of entering patients past medical/medication history and scanning documents into the electronic medical record using the MA check list or as otherwise directed by provider
Assist physicians during procedures by escorting the patient, obtaining vitals, obtaining consent form, log medication, chaperone as requested & recover occipital injection patients
Escort patients to the exam/procedure rooms
Send urine samples to the lab
Obtain prescription authorization as needed
Assist medical secretaries with insurance benefit/eligibility checks
