Job Description:
Position:
- Role: Medical Assistant
- Job Location: 696 Hampshire Rd Ste 170, Westlake Village, CA 91361
- Facility: CSMN - 1109061 - KJOC Thousand Oaks
- Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (7:30-3:30 / 8:00-4:00 / 8:30-4:30)
- Job Duration: 13 weeks (With potential to convert into FTE or high possibility of extension)
- Pay Range: $20/hr to $23/hr
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
- 2 years working as an MA
- Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture
- BLS from AHA
- 2+ years working as an MA in an outpatient clinic
- Experience with CS-Link/Epic
- Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
- Phlebotomy certification
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
- Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record
- Assist with tracking and monitoring department-specific data
- Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice
- Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs
- Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
- Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by the provider
- Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by the provider
