- Responsible for transporting, rooming, and preparing patients for physician, advanced practice provider, and nurse clinic visits.
- The Medical Assistant will serve as the first clinical contact for incoming clinic patients and must represent OHI in regards to Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
- Responsibilities include completion of vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy review, inquiry of past medical and family history, and documentation of the above in the electronic medical record.
- The Medical Assistant will participate in completion of provider orders by accurately performing venipuncture and EKGs, appropriately applying ambulatory cardiac monitoring, correctly selecting and documenting medication samples, and patient education of the above as directed by nurse or provider.
- The Medical Assistant will assist with additional clinic and/or administrative duties as delegated by the nurse, provider, or supervisor.
Job Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED
- BLS, PALS, or ACLS may be required for certain units
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or more than 2 years of working experience as an MA.
Preferred Job Requirements
- 1-3 years of previous experience
- Vocational / Technical Education
- Current CMA, RMA or ABR certification
