Profile Summary:
River's Edge Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Patient Care team. The Medical Assistant will support our healthcare providers by performing various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assistance, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage appointment reminders.
- Review patient accounts to ensure accuracy in billing and insurance information, and resolve any discrepancies.
· Patient Interaction:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Provide patient education and instructions on medication usage, disease management, and preventive healthcare.
- Answer patient inquiries and provide information on available pharmacy services.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other patient confidentiality regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified medical assistant program preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, preferably in telehealth or patient support roles.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software

Compensation:
- DOE: $22-$28
Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
