This position travels between our Main Administrative Center, The Counseling
Center at West Greeley, and The Counseling Center at Windsor

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of basic and routine patient
care and clerical duties to assist medical providers in the care and treatment
of clients in a behavioral health environment. Takes brief medical
histories, records vital signs, and answers clients' questions.

Duties Performed:
Provide individualized patient care by performing appropriate basic, routine
and regular delegated medical functions as directed by the prescribing
provider and within appropriate scope of practice as inferred by knowledge,
skill level, and agency guidelines.
Interview clients to determine reason for visit; take and record clients'
vital sign measurements, (i.e. blood pressure, pulse, respiration,
temperature, height and weight, AIMS assessment); take urine samples
and check glucose levels; and provide findings to appropriate prescriber,
according to standard requirements.
Organize lab reports, most recent prescriber notes, and other pertinent
information for current client visit.
Ensure accurate and timely entry of all medical information and prescriber
notes into electronic health record; confirm coding of services rendered is
ethically appropriate and results in successful billing.
Respond to client concerns, via phone and in person, regarding medications
and other health issues within scope of practice. Refer and report to
prescriber(s) when necessary.
Assist with coordination of medication refill requests; obtain prior
authorizations for medications as required by insurance. Work proactively with
payor sources to ensure payment of services; align services with payor
authorizations and/or request authorization prior to provision of service.
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by supporting agency collection policies and
procedures; assure client understanding of servic charges and fee changes.
Perform routine clerical and reception duties, as required, such as filing
client visit records and correspondence, preparing forms for laboratory,
answering telephones and taking messages, greeting and checking in
clients, and scheduling patient appointments.
Prepare supplies and give injections; assist clients in the organization of
medications (med boxes, schedules, etc.).
Order and maintain medical equipment and supplies; take and maintain
inventory.
Prepare treatment room(s) for use by physicians and other medical
providers by cleaning, stocking and arranging supplies, equipment and
instruments. Sterilize reusable supplies and instruments appropriately,
using germicide solution.
Review and communicate to physician and other medical provider appointment
schedule to determine client visit order and solicit special instructions or
requests for the day; keep clients, physician or other medical
providers, and other team members, informed of physician's or other
medical provider's status and/or time delays throughout the day.
May provide education regarding diagnosis, medications (side effects,
etc.), and lifestyle management to clients and/or other involved parties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma equivalent
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
Valid Drivers license and a driving record that meets agency insurability
