Medical Assistant - Cottage Health

Join Cottage Health as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant assists the physician and patients in the day-to-day clinical functions necessary to aid conducting a patient visit. Major accountabilities include:

• Medical assistant duties including, but not limited to, point of care testing, removal of bandages and dressings, performance of EKGs and other clinical duties as needed in the clinic setting
• Clearly documents actions in a timely manner
• Assists physician in exams as needed
• Liaison (patient to doctor to patient) on call-ins.
• Cleans and set up exam room. Cleans and sterilizes equipment.
• Receives and records lab, x-ray, etc. results over phone, relay to patients when appropriate.
• Clerical duties including, but not limited to scheduling, obtaining prior authorizations, facilitating referrals, filing, answering phones, processing paperwork, and other general tasks needed to maintain efficient clinic operations and patient flow.

QUALIFICATIONS

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: High School Diploma. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of equivalent work experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum: AHA BLS

Preferred: California State Certified Medical Assistant
