The Lung Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join their team, providing support in both front and back-office operations. The Medical Assistant will directly support one of our top physicians, playing a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient administrative processes, and facilitating smooth clinic operations. This position requires a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle both clinical and administrative tasks effectively.
Travel Required: Monday and Tuesday at Reisterstown Personal Physicians and Wednesday- Friday at Glen Burnie Personal Physicans
Responsibilities:- Front Office duties include, but are not limited to:
- Patient registration, updating existing patient information, and verifying insurance coverage accurately.
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments and other procedures, coordinating with patients and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Back Office duties include, but are not limited to:
- Rooming the patient including taking vital signs, including weight, height, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and other pertinent information
- Documenting medical histories, procedures, and treatments accurately
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, ensuring adequate inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical office experience preferred
- EPIC experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in challenging situations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
