Roles and Responsibilities
Provides supplemental patient care, in conjunction with/under the supervision of the RN, which may include data collection, planning and implementation of care of the surgical/procedural patient.
Provides safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative, individualized, and goal oriented nursing care to patients and their families in the pre and post-operative periods.
Accountable to Pre-op/PACU Manager
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Perform pre-op calls to GI and Pain patients.
- Print and prepare all charts/add ons.
- Retrieve EKG/Labs/Diagnostics/Clearances.
- M/A can Screen patients on admission. Verify patient ID, age, sex, surgeon, and procedure. Escort patients to Bay. Take initial vital signs and instruct them on changing to hospital attire.
- Follows appropriate communication channels. Observes all policies and procedures.
- Assist Pre-op/PACU with beds and stocking/set up for next day.
- Assist PACU with escorting patients to car PRN.
- Start Time can vary daily depending on the needs of the center.
Good communication and computer skills are REQUIRED!
Hourly Wage Range: $28 to $32 an hour
Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
