Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our growing pain management practice as a Medical Assistant & Front Desk Receptionist. This dynamic role requires a multi-skilled professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. You will be responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to our physicians and patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for appointments (chart prep).
- Accurately measure and record vital signs (weight, blood pressure, temperature, etc.).
- Obtain and document patient medical histories and complete necessary forms.
- Reconcile patient medications.
- Document inpatient Electronic Medical Record.
- Triage and process messages from patients to physicians.
- Assist physicians with procedures, including C-arm operation.
- Perform urine drug screenings.
- Stock exam rooms with medical supplies and forms.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked exam room environment.
Clerical Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Greet patients as they come in with a friendly, and professional welcome.
- Schedule appointments for callers, and follow-ups for patients in the office.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Address messages and patient cases in EMR that have been assigned to you.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence (faxing, scanning, printing).
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Experience in pain management is a plus.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation and auto accident cases is a plus.
- Bilingualism (Spanish/English) is a strong advantage.
- Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
