Description: Our client is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team!

Scope of Role:

Location: El Paso, TX

Hours: 8am to 5pm M-F with the occasional Saturday

Job Engagement: Contract to hire

This job will have the following responsibilities:

Perform all duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant’s practice, including:
Operating diagnostic equipment (without interpreting tests)
Removing staples from superficial wounds
Changing wound dressings and obtaining cultures
Administering non-intravenous medication
Performing simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques and collecting blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary
Performing EKGs
Conducting quality control checks on equipment
Preparing and sterilizing medical equipment using the autoclave
Room patients according to policy and procedures, and prepare them for examination
Record patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner
Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies
Respect patient confidentiality at all times and treat patients with courtesy and respect
Organize exam and treatment rooms, stock and clean rooms, and sterilize instruments
Practice standard infection control precautions
Conduct telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge
Support and follow Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO)
