Medical Assistant - Grieshaber Dermatology

As a Medical Assistant at our dermatology clinic, you will play a key role in supporting both the clinical and administrative functions of the practice. You will assist the dermatologist and/or physician assistant with patient care, manage medical records, and ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist the dermatologist and/or physician assistant with clinical tasks, including preparing treatment rooms, setting up instruments, and administering care under supervision.
• Perform routine dermatological procedures, such as wound care, dressing changes, and removal of sutures.
• Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and update charts.
• Assist in cosmetic procedures like chemical peels, laser treatments, and Botox.
• Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions and educate them on skincare regimens.
• Handle specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments, handle phone inquiries, and manage electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Order and maintain inventory of medical supplies and clinic equipment.
• Coordinate prescription refills and prior authorizations for medications as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
