Essential Functions:
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
- Record vital signs and medical history.
- Assist physicians/nurses during examinations.
- Administer medications and injections as per regulations.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen processing.
- Handle clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Conduct ECGs and assist with x-rays and minor surgeries under supervision.
- Manage front office duties, including patient registration and appointment scheduling.
- May supervise non-licensed staff in an office or clinic setting.
- Complete additional assignments as needed.
- Access personal health information (PHI) as required for duties.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
- Certification as a CMA by AAMA or registration through AMT preferred.
- One year of Medical Assistant experience within the last five years.
- Additional state-specific requirements as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Current CPR training for all ages.
- Effective communication skills with clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Valid drivers license and auto liability insurance if driving is required.
- Meet health requirements for patient care.
