• Hours: 32hrs
• Shift: Day Shift; 8am-4:30pm
• Location: Linden Tree Family Health Center – Portsmouth, RI
• Pay Range: $17.15/hr - $23.05/hr *Pay Rate will be determined based on experience and internal equity.*

We are searching for a CertifiedMedical Assistant – Team Care to perform a wide range of administrative and clinical duties within the medical assistant scope of practice. Assist the provider inside and outside the exam room of a medical office setting. Measure vital signs, collect other patient-related data through questionnaires and other tools, and enter into electronic health record (EHR). Scribe the provider’s documentation into the EHR accurately and efficiently. Assist the provider with various treatments/procedures in the examination room and act on orders within scope of practice. Lead by example and train other Medical Assistants.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program and national third-party certification such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification or NCMA (NCCT certification) is required at the time of hire.
• Completion of team care model training provided during orientation is required within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification is required.
• Prior experience using an EHR and/or health-related computer software is preferred.
• Three (3) years of medical assistant work is required.
• Fluency in a language other than English and Medical Interpreting is desirable.
• Other certifications, based on practice specialty may be preferred.
• Experience interacting with patients and their families, attention to detail, ability to stay focused, responsible and organized is required.

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and seasonal Influenza. Must provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
