Position Statement
The Primary Care MA is responsible for preparing patients for their provider visit in a timely manner while following appropriate policies and workflows for each visit type. The MA works closely with the entire care team, communicating any outliers in the expected process. They may perform additional duties such as immunizations, suture removals, and prior authorizations once signed off on by clinical educator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-visit preparation paperwork and care gap identification.
- Point of care testing as directed by provider or RN.
- Restocking exam rooms.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Maintains current MA certification or completion of NCH-approved program.
- BLS required.
- Ability to follow office procedures and policies required for specific visit types.
- Experience working in a healthcare clinic or outpatient setting a plus.
