Medical Administrative Assistant - Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston

OCB is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant person for our Plymouth Team with occasional travel as needed to other offices (training). The Schedule for this is Monday-Friday 8-4:30PM.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or significant relevant experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Minimum of four years of experience in high volume professional/medical environment preferred
• Experience in customer support and services
• Experience with EMR systems
• Team orientation to work effectively internally and externally on behalf of OCB
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to be flexible with changing work based on need on a regular, continuous basis
• Excellent communication skills, tact, and diplomacy, as well as skill in organizing, planning, and prioritizing 

Responsibilities:

• Provides a high level of administrative support to various administrative teams
• Maintains control of and orchestrates physician’s schedule, patient care days and meetings
• Communicates with patients to discuss procedures, lab work, physicals, consent forms and reports questions to physician
• Functions as a resource to patients through verbal and written communication
• Handles a high volume of patient calls
• Assists with documenting procedures, handling co-management paperwork between surgeons, and referring providers
• Other duties as assigned
