Major/Essential Functions
- The Social Media & Multimedia Coordinator will manage the college's social media presence and multimedia content creation. This position supports the Assistant Director of PR & Media by developing strategies to enhance online engagement, creating visual and video content, and monitoring social media interactions. The Coordinator will ensure that all multimedia elements align with the college's PR and media objectives.
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase online engagement.
- Create, curate, and manage visuals (photos, videos, and graphics) for social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to social media interactions to foster a positive online community.
- Analyze social media metrics and provide insights for improvement.
- Produce and edit multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and graphics.
- Provide photography and videography support for events and special projects.
- Capture high-quality visuals that enhance the college's storytelling.
- Assist in executing media buying strategies, including optimizing ad placements.
- Track, analyze, and report data from social media and advertising campaigns and make recommendations for strategy improvement, if necessary.
- Act as a community manager, engaging with followers and addressing comments.
- Support crisis communication efforts with appropriate visual and social media content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align social media and multimedia efforts with broader initiatives.
- Guide and support social media student assistants in multimedia production.

Strong understanding of various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube) and experience in managing them effectively to increase engagement. | Proficiency in creating, curating, and managing visual content, including photos, videos, and graphics, to enhance storytelling. | Experience with photography, videography, and the ability to use editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects). | Ability to analyze social media metrics and insights, track data from campaigns, and provide actionable recommendations for strategy improvement. | Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey messages, engage with online communities, and collaborate with internal teams.| Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines efficiently. | Capability to support crisis communication efforts by quickly producing and sharing appropriate visual and social media content. | Experience in engaging with followers, responding to comments, and fostering a positive online community. | Creative thinker with a strong sense of visual storytelling to develop engaging content that aligns with the college's brand and objectives.
Familiarity with media buying strategies and optimizing ad placements for social media campaigns. | Experience in producing and editing podcasts or other audio content. | Ability to provide photography and videography support for events and special projects, capturing high-quality visuals that enhance the college's storytelling. | Knowledge of advanced social media analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics) for tracking and reporting campaign performance. | Skills in video editing, including creating branded videos, commercials, and promotional materials. | Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) to enhance the visibility of social media content. | Experience with project management tools and methodologies to coordinate multimedia production and content calendar effectively.
A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field. | 2-3 years of relevant experience in social media management, multimedia production, or digital communications, preferably within an educational or similar setting.| Experience guiding and supporting social media student assistants or junior team members in multimedia production. | Formal training or certification in crisis communication or experience handling high-stakes social media scenarios (preferred, but not required) | Relevant certifications such as a Social Media Marketing Certificate, Digital Media Production, or Adobe Creative Suite certification.

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing.
