Media Prep Lab Technician - The Fountain Group

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Media Prep Laboratory Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in ­­South San Francisco, CA. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

**100& ONSITE (1^st & 2^nd shift available)**

• Responsible for working effectively within the group to meet department goals and objectives.
• Responsible for executing glass wash and equipment preparation activities.
• Cleaning, sterilizing, preparing and distributing of glassware and equipment.
• Operate process equipment, which includes autoclaves, washers, ovens, tanks, and benchtop instruments.
• Responsible for producing microbiological media, cell culture media, various solutions, buffers, clean glassware and prepared equipment for use throughout GMP and/or R&D groups.
• Preparation of stock such as reagents, buffers, microbiological, tissue culture and requested media as needed.
• Working with the Supervisor and Lead Technician (as applicable) to prioritize tasks and assignments and making recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on team needs.
• Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the team towards meeting department goals and objective.
• Supporting the team by providing training and technical assistance.
• Demonstrate Technical Expertise and strength including mastery of equipment and instruments used.
• Partner with Media Prep Lab Services groups across campus on sharing best practices.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all required training activities.
• Be a resource to the team and assist technician in resolving technical issues.
• Effectively train other technicians.

Qualifications:

• BS in a life science
• Academic laboratory experience
• Buffer/media preparation
• Basic lab experience (pipetting, equipment maintenance, glassware washing, MS Office)

Compensation: $25 per hour
