Horsham Center for Jewish Life is searching for a compassionate individual to work as a Resident Assistant/Med Tech to join our team!
Part Time Schedule - 11pm-7am
Rate: $17.79/hr
Position Summary
The Resident Assistant/Med Tech is an unlicensed employee certified to administer medications who provides individualized care and services to the residents of the Inn. The Resident Assistant develops an understanding of each client’s needs, preferences and interests while maintaining their independence, dignity and self-esteem.
The Resident Assistant will provide assistance according to each client’s individualized Plan of Care with activities of daily living, recreational programming and documentation in the daily progress notes, in home correspondence and monthly summaries. The Resident Assistant supports the Resident Assistant(s) on duty and reports to the Inn Administrator.
Job Responsibilities
Provides personal care and services per each client’s individualized Plan of Care to assist in improvement and/or maintenance of the clients’ physical and mental status. Assists with all ADL activities.
Assists with mobility and instructs clients as to the proper use of mobility aids.
Fully participates in the service planning process, reviewing of daily notes.
Responsible for observing any changes in clients’ status and reports them immediately to the supervisor.
Adheres to facility safety standards and infection control manual and reports all potential resident/employee safety hazards to the Inn Administrator.
Launders clients’ personal laundry when needed and ensures the safety of the clients’ personal possessions.
Participate in pet activities and maintenance of animal care.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Prior experience passing meds is required
A minimum of one year working with the elderly is highly desirable
Demonstrates ability to work with other people through a cooperative effort
Position requires frequently lifting 25-50 lbs. Occasionally will need to lift, and/or pull up to 75-100+ lbs., and carry up to 20 lbs.
