IV starts, epidural, PCA, pain/nausea management, Head to toe assessments, bariatric care, telemetry, medication administration, general wound care and wound vac management, tube feeding, TPN, safe patient handling, vascular care, numerous tube and drain careEquipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)EPIC for documentation and medication administrationRequired skills and minimum years of experience.Post Surgical experience: All surgery types with exception of open hearts, fresh lungs, and stroke patients. Some overflow of ortho patients. looking for candidates with the following post-op surgery experience: General surgery bowel resection, gall bladder removal, mastectomy, fem-pop bypass grafts, AAA repair Urology surgery prostatectomies, TURPs, nephrectomies, bladder irrigations ENT surgery thryroidectomies GYN surgery hysterectomies, bladder slings Epidural and PCA experience for pain control Tubes/Drains NG, JPs, wound vacs, t-tubes etc Telemetry experienceSpecific licensures and certifications/registrations required.RN, BLS. ACLS is preferred.Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) Work weekends, standby and mandatory call off can occur (unsure exact days or times), works with a team (charge, floor nurses, CNAs, secretaries and sometimes the manager and coordinator. Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)Neuro/Ortho, Cardiology, Oncology, General Medicine, ICU/CCU Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.38 beds on unit, Nursing ratio s on dayshift 4-5:1, night shift 4-6:1. Number of patients in a day; who do they have as support staff?High surgical patient turnover during the day. Would be supported by a charge nurse, other staff members on the unit, and various other resources throughout the hospital. Resources are more limited at night.Dress uniform that is clean and wrinkle free. Designs need to be professional. No tatoos or body piercings with the exception of earrings. No color preference on the scrubs. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.Department training would be on the unit and usually 1-2 12 hours shifts. Computer and general hospital classroom trading is provided before orienting on the nursing unit. 400 Bed Hospital - Level III Trauma Center - Function as a Level II so they like RN s that have at least Level II Trauma experienceMedford is 4th Largest City in Oregon with about 80,000 people - with a total population including the surrounding cities (Ashland, Jacksonville, Grants Pass) of 200,000 peopleIt is only 20 miles north of the CA boarder; 1.5hrs to the Coast; 1.5hrs to Crater Lake; about 5hrs to Portland, OR; Tons of Wineries and Breweries in this areaComments: Will be asked to float as needed. OR RN License Required for starting.
