Mechanical Test Engineer - Chillicothe, IL
Summary:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering required.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Experience with engineering-related computer applications and software.
- Hands-on test experience and data collection.
- Vibration testing experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player and detail-oriented.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering.
- 3-7 years of experience in a related field.
Required Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Experience with engineering-related computer applications and software, including test data analysis and test reports.
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on test experience, including setup and data collection from test specimens or systems.
- Vibration testing experience, including the use of accelerometers, shake tables, and strain gauges.

Responsibilities:
- Research and investigate the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
- Responsible for engine structures & dynamics development/validation of engine components and systems.
- Evaluate complex failure modes and provide technical guidance/expertise for NPI/CPI product validation.
- Perform linear vibrations, stress/strain, and modal testing to provide design recommendations.
- Utilize data acquisition systems (LMS, EDAQ, CDAQ) and analyze test data using statistical and data analysis tools (LMS, DATK, MS PROJECT) to improve structural integrity components for large engine applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for NPI & CPI programs, including product design, product development, metallurgy, quality, reliability, mechanics, technicians, and suppliers.
- Work closely with other teammates, different teams, design engineers, and test technicians.
Work Environment:
- Engine test lab, hands-on with testing.
- Dynamic facility.
