Position: Lead Medical Assistant or LVN
Location: San Diego
Hourly Range: $25.00 - 30.00 (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

The Medical Assistant’s role supports our business by performing quality patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of an RN, LVN, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or physician. The primary focus of the Medical Assistant is to provide excellent patient care and always protect patient and employee confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Prepares patients for scheduled procedures, assists in patient assessment.
- Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
- Provides proper, direct patient care in assigned areas.
- Performs basic procedures including the application of simple dressings, perennial care, and urine tests.
- Demonstrates a courteous, respectful, and helpful attitude when working with patients.
- Takes patient’s vital signs, documents in the EHR system and provides personalized patient care.
- Safely collects and handles patient lab specimens and reports results to patients by telephone.
- Responsible for accurate administration of medications as appropriate.
- Accountable for following clinic policies and procedures for infection control when handling and disposing of infections and/or hazardous waste materials.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patients’ comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.
- Provides health care instructions to patients and family members.
- Follow employee and nursing policy/procedure manuals and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of patient’s medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.
- Documents patient transactions, phone conversations, observations, and orders in medical records according to the clinic’s policies and procedures.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain positive employee relations.

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
- Medical Assistant Certificate or LVN License.
- Minimum of 6 months medical experience required; 1-2 years of experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Pediatric experience
- Ear lavage
- EKG
