As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects. Your expertise will directly influence our ability to secure and execute projects successfully. This is a critical role that requires in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, a strong understanding of construction processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems, including [HVAC, plumbing, piping, etc.].
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather relevant data and pricing.
- Develop comprehensive material and labor cost breakdowns, and identify cost-effective solutions.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to secure the best value.
- Ensure that all estimates are completed within established timelines and budgets.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
- Assist with project planning and scheduling to ensure smooth execution.
- Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering growth within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical estimating, with at least [X] years in a senior-level role.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, construction codes, and industry standards.
- Proficient in estimating software such as ProEst, Accubid, Timberline, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proven track record of successful project estimations and cost control.
