Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience)

Position Purpose:
As a Senior Project Engineer for Automated Custom Machinery, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical design integrity, approach, and profitability of machine design/build projects. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, you will lead the mechanical design aspects of projects, understand technical issues affecting the project, and drive corrective actions to meet customer specifications and project goals. Your role will also involve maintaining project budgets and ensuring engineering design schedules are met.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent technical degree.
5-10 years of experience in custom machine design and implementation.
2-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and machine design.
Proficiency with welding processes, welding equipment, packaging equipment, and high-speed assembly equipment.
Experience working with customers and suppliers.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Experience with project management and leadership.
Proficiency in software such as MS Project, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and 3D CAD.
Knowledge of industrial PC programming and robotics programming.

Collaborate with the Project Manager to review customer specifications and propose innovative design concepts.
Break down design tasks for large projects into manageable components and oversee the design team.
Provide a detailed mechanical design schedule to the Project Manager.
Coordinate with mechanical designers and supervise their work.
Apply sound design practices for hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Collaborate with control engineers to ensure correct electrical components are ordered.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Monitoring cycle time, customer part changes, and cost overruns.
Ensuring technical communication with customers.
Adhering to design checklists and specifications.
Acquiring and reporting design/detail status reports weekly.
Scheduling and conducting design review meetings.
