There is an opening on the leadership team for a Mechanical/Process Department Manager. As the department lead, you would be consulting with clients, leading a team of engineers and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects on time and within budget. Client needs can range in size from several thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical and process systems, ensuring the successful completion of large-scale industrial projects. This includes working on the design and optimization of machinery, piping systems, and overall process flows for facilities in industries such as manufacturing, plastics, energy, mining, and chemicals.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical and process systems, ensuring the successful completion of large-scale industrial projects. This includes working on the design and optimization of machinery, piping systems, and overall process flows for facilities in industries such as manufacturing, plastics, energy, mining, and chemicals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of mechanical and process system designs, including equipment selection, layout, and integration with other systems.
- Ensure the accuracy of design drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical and process systems (e.g., HVAC, piping, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, etc.).
- Conduct process simulations, heat and mass balance calculations, and fluid dynamics analysis to ensure system efficiency.
- Provide engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design to installation and commissioning and participate in project planning, risk assessments, and the preparation of cost estimates.
- Ensure designs and systems comply with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, etc.).
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, structural engineers, and construction managers, to ensure the integration and coordination of systems.
- Oversee the commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of piping, equipment layouts, P&ID's, PFD's, HVAC, machine design, pipe Stress Analysis, CFD Analysis and material and energy balance
- Engineering degree. PE license highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and mentor capabilities.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoPlant 3D and fluency with Microsoft Office 360.
- 10+ years of industry experience.
