Mechanical/Piping Engineer
Fulltime
Location : Mount Laurel Township, New Jersey, 08054 or Charlotte, NC
Summary
Client is currently seeking a Fulltime Mechanical (Pipe Stress/Pipe Support) Engineer to join our team in either our Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC office. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers performing pipe stress analysis and pipe support design for piping systems serving the nuclear and conventional generation industry.
Requirements
Status – US Citizen and Permanent Residents (we will not be able to provide sponsorship now or in the future)
Due to the nature of work that Client performs, candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States. No sponsorship is available.
Requirements: 5 years experience in pipe stress analysis and pipe support design
PE license is an asset.
No per diem or relocation is available.
This is not a Nuclear project, so Nuclear experience is not required.
Any new hire will be required to be within commuting distance of either the Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in pipe stress analysis and pipe support design.
• If required, the ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master of Science Degree in mechanical or structural engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in US, and the ability to be licensed in other states through Comity.
Responsibilities
• Perform complex pipe stress analysis and prepare calculations for various piping systems including high energy, water, air and gas systems using company standard software such as CAESAR II and Bentley AutoPIPE.
• Pipe support engineering and design using industry standard tools and methods.
• Develop mechanical / piping design and procurement specifications.
• Prepare engineering drawings such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Plan, Piping Orthographic and Isometric drawings.
• Develop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.
• Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.
• Interface with project stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements.
• Support construction/implementation and start up activities as required.
