Mechanical HVAC Summer Intern/ Co-Op 2024 - SMMA

SMMA is seeking an Intern/Co-op to join our Mechanical Engineering team.

This person will work for senior engineers to complete all aspects of HVAC design projects including drafting, mark-ups, load calculations, coordination, and site investigations.

We work in a team-oriented environment that promotes collaboration and learning to encourage personal growth and better designed projects.

Responsibilities Include:

· Prepare HVAC drawings with support and supervision of senior mechanical engineering staff utilizing Autodesk Revit Software

· Assist in the calculation of building heating, ventilation and air conditioning loads utilizing Carrier’s Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) and Excel.

· Assist in the selection of HVAC equipment with support from senior mechanical engineering staff

· Assist in field surveys and construction site visits with support and supervision of senior mechanical engineering staff

Minimal Qualifications:

· In the process of completing a Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology degree

· Experience with a variety of design software programs (Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP) as well as Microsoft Office

· Effective communication and social skills
