The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, as well as excellent analytical and organizational skills. Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, as well as excellent analytical and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be able to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and identify potential mechanical costs
- Collaborate with project managers and vendors to gather information and obtain quotes for mechanical materials and equipment
- Create detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems, including labor, materials, and equipment
- Analyze and compare cost estimates to determine the most cost-effective solutions
- Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and management
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all cost estimates
- Provide support to project teams during the bidding process
- Identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities
- Continuously monitor and update cost databases and pricing models
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of mechanical trades and construction processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of electrical trades is a plus
