The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems in construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and services.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed mechanical systems.
- Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to accurately estimate costs.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and present cost reports and analyses to management and clients.
- Participate in proposal presentations and negotiations.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, codes, and regulations related to mechanical systems in construction.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are available for projects.
- Use computer software to prepare estimates and maintain a database of project costs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in construction, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Proficient in estimating software and other industry-related technology.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best prices for materials and services.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
