Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Location: Oakland, CA,

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000

My client is a leading contractor based in Oakland, who have an opening for a mechanical estimator. They specialize in industrial construction, wastewater facilities, HVAC, metal fabrication, and more. Responsibilities

• Determine material and labor requirements using plans and specifications of potential jobs.
• Travel to job sites as needed to review conditions and determine if they could impact the scope.
• Perform take offs and pricing for mechanical work, this includes, processing, piping, installation, and electrical work.
• Create a supplier & subcontractor invite list and assist in drafting subcontractors for new projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to review and discuss their scope of work.
• Resolve estimating issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with civil estimators prior to final bid to ensure full scope of work is completed and accurate.
• Prepare and review estimated budget costs for awarded projects.
• Prepare estimates for general engineering and project managers.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of industrial piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, including pump stations and related process equipment.
• Ability to accurately compute costs in a timely way using a computerized database.
• Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts as required on projects.
