We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Mechanical Estimator to join our fast-paced construction team. This role is critical to our project planning and execution, as you will be responsible for calculating the costs associated with various mechanical projects. You will work closely with our project management team to ensure that all projects are estimated accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Estimator, your core responsibilities will include:
1. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
2. Preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing the materials needed, labor requirements, location, and other factors.
3. Collaborating with contractors, clients, and team members to gather information about the type and cost of materials required for project completion.
4. Using software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and project management.
5. Conducting risk analysis for projects, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
6. Providing improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
7. Assisting in bid preparation, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for and accurately priced.
8. Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and techniques in mechanical estimation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Estimator position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating or a related field within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
4. Strong understanding of mechanical construction processes, materials, and costs.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to create accurate estimates.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to a variety of audiences.
7. Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.
8. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
9. A solid understanding of industry safety measures and regulations.
