Mechanical Engineering Technician-3x12am

Starting Pay: ***/hr
Hours: Weekend Shift: F - Su, 7:00am - 7:00pm
We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team for our location in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
· Builds, repairs and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Installs test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.). Performs tests in accordance with set test methods.
· Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.
· Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.
· Has an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.
· Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
· Has an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.
· Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment
· Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification
· Performs other duties as required.
· Technicians will be required to do all mandatory trainings to remain compliant in their roles (HSE, CLC courses, etc.)
· Technicians will be required to communicate with internal customers via email and collaboration applications (i.e. MS Teams)
· Technicians will be expected to fulfill daily functional requirements via 5S methodology.
· Technicians will be expected to learn necessary fabrication skills.
· Technicians will be expected to review their time sheet every week.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
· High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
· A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
· 4 year degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, or a a related field preferred.
· This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
· Ability to work 3x12 Weekend Shift: 3 a week (Friday-Sunday), working 12 hours per shift (7:00am-7:00pm).
· Pay starting at ***/HR or higher, based on experience level.
