The Opportunity
RS&H currently seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Buildings group in our Dallas, TX office.
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will be mentored by and collaborate with top Engineering associates on our team. The selected candidate will work with associates assisting the Buildings group with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design on a variety of Commercial, Health, Science, and Aviation type projects. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Mechanical Engineering field as it relates to construction and design.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
- Prepare and revise plan document details using drafting software.
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation
- Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
- Provide support to engineering and project management associates
Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
- Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2.5 GPA or above
- Prior internship or related experience
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
- HVAC-specific courses
- Interest in MEP design specific to the construction industry
