About the Job
Selectek has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer in Woodstock, GA. The work will be on commercial, multi-family, educational, and government building projects.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- AutoCAD proficiency
- 4-8 years of experience (or more)
- HVAC and Plumbing Design experience
- Familiarity with the IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 energy codes, International Mechanical & Plumbing codes, and other related codes
- Skilled in developing designs for construction and repair of systems varying from residential split systems, small commercial, tenet fit-ups, packaged systems, VRF, PIU, VAV, water source heat pumps, and chiller/boiler systems.
- Skilled in designing of plumbing systems including but not limited to sanitary waste and vent, domestic water, and gas piping
Preferred:
- EIT or PE License (Highly Preferred)
- Revit / BIM
- Field and/or Construction experience
- LEED Certification
If you are a PE, you will not stamp until converted to direct. They do have another person in to stamp if needed. There is also a chance this role could be a direct hire if needed.
Job Details:
- Serve as a task manager and perform as lead discipline (mechanical) person on scope and budget projects, identify method of project execution.
- Successfully execute mechanical designs to be on time and on budget using company systems and tools.
- Support business opportunities and assist in proposal preparation, interviewing, scope, fee, etc.
- Mentor and supervise other mechanical engineers and designers.
- Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
- Design requirements include construction plans, specifications, equipment schedules, record drawings, shop drawing submittal reviews, construction inspections, and development of design checklist and guides.
- Review design packages for technical accuracy, quality control and assurance
- In this role, your design delivery responsibilities will include mechanical and plumbing systems coordination, conceptual design development, layout and selection of equipment, development of contract drawings, field investigations, and support during construction both in the office and the field.
- The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical and plumbing engineering designs, and mechanical and plumbing equipment upgrades.
- Types of projects include single and multi-family residential, commercial, retail, restaurant, municipal, and self-storage segments.
- Have a broad range of responsibilities, which include supervising and mentoring junior and midlevel mechanical engineers, interact with clients, manage mechanical related projects, and participate in new business development.
Pay rate: $35/hour - $45/hour
Term of assignment: 6 months temp to perm (could go direct hire)
Location of job: Woodstock, GA
Hours & Shift: Monday - Friday 8AM 5PM (Flex time, 7AM-6PM, as long as you get your 8 hours in
Overtime: Possibly, driven by deadlines
Travel: some as needed to client sites
Work Attire: Jeans, Business Casual
Work from Home: yes, once they have established their skills in-office
