We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cincinnati (Mason), Ohio. The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess a strong practical foundation in classical engineering principles, coupled with a passion for innovation.
As an Experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in projects such as failure analysis, design and process optimization, product development, and cost reduction across a variety of applications in the medical, pharmaceutical and consumer sectors.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Involvement: Engage in all phases of project execution including scope definition, development, requirements, conceptualization, analysis, design, testing, and documentation.
- Team Leadership: Lead or collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including contracted or vendor resources.
- Engineering Processes: Employ formal engineering development processes to ensure project success.
- Independent and Collaborative Work: Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Qualifications
Required:
Education:
MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
Fundamental Skills:
Extensive experience in applying fundamental engineering mechanics.
Computational Modeling:
- Significant hands-on experience with non-linear computational modeling tools (such as Hexagon), including:
- Rigid Body Dynamics (ADAMS)
- Kinematics (ADAMS)
- Implicit and Explicit Finite Element Methods (MARC or ABAQUS)
- Automation of computational modeling processes
Scripting Proficiency: Proficient in Python scripting for visualization, data analytics and post processing.
Innovation: Highly innovative with a strong ability to work independently and take initiative.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
Problem Solving: Strong skills in problem definition and solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
Client Engagement: Comfortable and capable of engaging with clients as needed.
Creative Application: Ability to creatively apply engineering principles and tools to diverse projects.
Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship or need for future sponsorship.
Leadership: Experience leading small teams of engineers, fostering collaboration and guiding project success.
Preferred:
- Medical Device Development: Experience or knowledge in the development of medical devices.
- Human Anatomy & Surgical Physiology: Demonstrated understanding of human anatomy and surgical physiology.
- GD&T Proficiency: Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application.
- Data Analysis Skills: Experience with data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or R.
- Test Fixture Design: Proven experience in designing and developing test fixtures.
- DFM/DFA Experience: Knowledge and practical experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Materials Knowledge: Understanding of materials, including polymers and metals.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming, focusing on applications relevant to engineering tasks.
- Collaborative Mindset: Willingness to engage with and leverage the expertise of other professionals within the company.
- Project Management: Initiative in managing projects, including task assignment and supervision of team members.
