Function: Engineering and Engineering Services Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Principal Engineer, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the coordination, design, execution and cost control of specific capital and management of change (MOC) projects from conception to startup, along with providing technical support on fixed assets and stationary equipment. Job Description: Reporting directly to the Principal Engineer, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the coordination, design, execution and cost control of specific capital and management of change (MOC) projects from conception to startup, along with providing technical support on fixed assets and stationary equipment. Job Responsibilities: • Prepare cost estimates for financial approval and control expenditures to within +/- 10% of the allocated amount. • Control contract work during design phases by approving design changes, authorizing extra work and maintaining project schedules. • Coordinate construction activities to ensure that projects are constructed safely and economically, • Perform design reviews with engineering, operations, & maintenance to ensure project accuracy and functionality. • Participate in bid process and hazard & operability (H&O) studies. • Coordinate with outside vendors regarding design reviews, milestones, and deadlines. • Analyze and solve technical problems related to piping, pressure vessels and heat exchangers. • Have sound understanding of inspection codes and practices to support effective mechanical integrity. • Provide technical input to maintenance and production personnel to improve plant operating efficiencies and reliability. Job Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering • Must have (5 ) five years of experience in related Engineering work experience within a chemical manufacturing plant. • Be familiar with national and local government codes, regulations and standards. • Eligible to register for professional designation.
