Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer with experience in Soft Trim to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will work on the design, development, and production of soft trim components, ensuring that they meet both customer specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Assist in designing and developing soft trim components, such as upholstery, seat covers, and interior vehicle elements, ensuring they meet aesthetic, functional, and durability standards.
- CAD Modeling & Prototyping: Utilize CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) to create 3D models and generate technical drawings for soft trim components.
- Material Selection: Support the selection of materials suitable for soft trim applications, focusing on durability, comfort, and aesthetics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure that soft trim components meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Testing & Validation: Assist in the testing and validation of soft trim components to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and streamline production processes.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any engineering issues that arise during the production of soft trim components.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on soft trim, automotive interiors, or related areas.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with material properties, especially in the context of soft trim (e.g., fabrics, leather, foam).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, thermoforming, stitching, cutting, and assembling of soft trim parts).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Time management skills to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards related to automotive interiors or soft trim.
- Experience with prototyping and testing of soft trim components.
- Familiarity with the principles of ergonomic design.
Salary
40 - 44 /hour
